This Diwali, Let's Go Green!

Diwali is the festival of lights. The very thought of this festival fills our mind with the sky full of fireworks, houses decorated with beautiful lights; sweets, new clothes, gifts, friends, family and what not. The excitement of this festival increases as it approaches.

Have you ever thought of the effects of these celebrations on our environment? The air pollution, noise, and so on! Keeping these ill-effects on our health and environment in our mind, how about making this Diwali an Eco-friendly Diwali? As a part of being a responsible brand, BramhaCorp supports the concept of going green with safe celebrations. Protecting mother Earth is everyone’s responsibility and we shall do it in every way we can.

Here are some ways to celebrate a Greener, Cleaner and Happier Diwali:
  • Use diyas instead of Electric Lights: Use diyas or earthen lamps to illuminate your house instead of electric lights. Apart from saving power, diyas look prettier and is a smart and traditional option binding us closer to the spirit of Diwali. It is also a great way of helping those whose livelihood depends on this business.
  • Go for Eco-friendly Crackers: With the amount of noise and air pollution the crackers cause, it’s better to cut down on firecrackers with other fun options, games, meeting and greeting. Or else choose eco-friendly firecrackers, though a bit expensive but hugely cuts down on pollution levels.
  • Use natural colors or flowers for Rangoli decorations: Let’s go back to those traditional practices where rangoli was made to feed the birds. Instead of using artificial colors, use spices, pulses, rice. You may also use fresh flowers; their fragrance will surely create that perfect festive ambience.
  • Gift Homemade and herbal products: Instead of buying sweets, chocolates from the market prefer gifting homemade sweets, handmade candles, lampshades, organic gift baskets which are much healthier options.
  • Give back to the society: Diwali is a great time to spread happiness in the lives of underprivileged. Donate your old clothes, shoes, books and anything which you feel will be useful for them. Spend time with them, distribute sweets, play games. Share your smile and spread cheer during this Festival of Lights!
As rightly said, Don’t act mean, Go Green! Let’s celebrate an Eco-friendly Diwali this year! Team BramhaCorp wishes each and everyone a safe and prosperous Eco-friendly Diwali!
